Job description

In this position you are responsible for the development and optimization of down stream processing methods to purify the new products. Common techniques you will use in this position are column chromatography, filtration, AKTA, FPLC, Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) and more. You will work on several projects and products simultaneously.

Additionally, you will share your knowledge and experience with your less experienced colleagues to increase the knowledge level of DSP within the team. The position contains a fair amount of hands-on tasks in the laboratory. This is because you will not only bring up ideas, but you will also execute them in the lab.

The position is within a company that is a pioneer within its field of research. They develop novel and groundbreaking new therapies and are looking for technicians for their process developement department to help scale up their production.

Profile for the position of DSP research technician

We are looking for a laboratory professional with the following background:

  • BASc or MSc degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, life science, chemistry or similar
  • At least 2 years of experience within down stream processing (DSP)
  • Experience withing a pharmaceutical or biotechnological company is preferred
  • Proactive and independent mindset, enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and taking the team to the next level
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Command of the Dutch language is a plus

If you do not have the required amount of working experience but have experience in the down stream processing, for example during your internship, we would like to encourage you to apply as well. However it is important that you have experience with purification steps using chromatography in the pharmaceutical industry.
